This is a rare find for a military collector: an original Swiss Army Alpenflage camouflage helmet cover with five metal hooks, specifically designed for the older Swiss M18 or M18/40 helmet.
Most of the Alpenflage covers you see on the market today are the later, more common 4-hook style made to fit the smaller, newer M71 helmet. This cover is in mint, unissued condition. The colors are vibrant, and the fabric is clean with no signs of wear, tears, or fading. It's a perfect piece to complete a M18/40 helmet or for a collection.
NOTE: The panels differ from side to side, as these were sometimes made with scrap fabric. (See photos)
